My P90X over 50 transformation continues…

I’ve been a bit remiss about posting… so just to let you know.. the dream continues
I’ve now completed round 2 of P90X and even then I relaxed a bit, let me tell you why…
My metabolism is on fire, I eat healthy but eat  A LOT.  I’m the guy that thought a fat burning metabolism was something you were born with, not something you could train your body to become (I was wrong)
I’m not sure if it’s the Shakeology I start my day with, but I’m kinda guessing that helps a …

Why is P90X is 90 days?

I’m not a doctor or a certified trainer, but here’s my take on why P90X is a 90 day program (based on my own experience).
My goal when I started was to lose 30 pounds.. I had no real good reason, other than I thought I looked I’d look fairly decent weighing in at 180.
after 30 days I was pretty sure I’d have to revise my goals… I wasn’t disappointed in the program, because I has lost about 7 pounds, my clothes were getting loose, it just wasn’t on track to lose 30 …

Fit over 50 years old

Well the results are in.. it’s been 90 days of using P90x and I have to fess up on how I did (I actually finished the 90 day a while ago, but didn’t get my pics up)
Bottom line… In 90 days, I lost 32 pounds.. to date 44 pounds
So to recap.. my goal was to lose 30 pounds in 90 days. to be honest I didn’t think it was possible.  Given that I’m 52 years old, was never an athlete, and had virtually no physical activity as part of my daily …

While you’re waiting.. weight loss benne

So I’m still a couple of weeks of my 90 day pictures, but because all my clothes are kind’a baggy I had to get new threads.
I’m meeting some people for lunch and has to look half way nice, so I picked up new pants and pullover.. while I’m not GQ model material, its’ still cool to have some nice clothes and look slim and trim.
Ya know while all these pictures show my overly hairy body, which will rarely be seen by the public, a real nice benefit of being well …

OK this is not bragging.. it’s just plain excitement
I weighed myself yesterday and have made more than half-way to my weight loss goal of 30 pounds.
having started out kind’a slow, with maybe a tad overly optimistic goals, it is darn sweet to have crossed the half-way mark.  While I never expected to lose all 30 pounds in 90 days, I had the ambitious goal of losing 25 lbs, with P90X workout…
with about 2 weeks left I think I’ll make it at least to 20 or maybe even 22 …

60 Days of P90X

After 60 days, I must say I’m pretty impressed with the P90X program…
I know anyone reading this probably wants the bottom line.. so after 60 days
lost 11 pounds and 2 inches off my waist..
there are other things I don’t really have measurements for.. like chest, and arms.. but I can tell you I’ve firmed up everywhere, and get stronger all the time.
While I STILL can’t do all the exercises the way Tony Horton (P90X creator) does, I make progress and have settled into a routine that works for me.
I workout …

30 Years of Fat… Gone in 90 days?

I’d say the last time I really exercised… I mean REALLY put forth an effort, was just before I married in 1980
Oh sure I used to play golf… as one friend said “to keep the rust off” but even that ended, when my back required 2 days of recovery, after a round of golf .
So as time passed an extra pound here, an atrophied muscle there… before I knew it I have a figure that resembles a russet potato, with pipe cleaners appendages…
Not a pretty sight…
It’s not like I didn’t …
